Berlin Masterpieces in Wroclaw

Starting on 18 September 2016, the City Museum of Wroclaw will host an exhibition titled "19th Century Masterpieces from the National Gallery of the State Museums of Berlin". For the very first time, roughly 67 paintings drawn from the collection of the Berlin banker and art patron Joachim Heinrich Wilhelm Wagener – predominantly the work of German masters from the first half of the 19th century – will be on display in Wroclaw.

We are Jews from Wroclaw

In the film "We are Jews from Wroclaw", 14 eyewitnesses recount and recall their lives in Wroclaw. They describe their fates of flight and exile, the loss of their homes as well as their new beginnings in countries such as the United States, Israel, England, France and even Germany. The current situation of the Jewish community in Wroclaw is also reflected in the film.

Summer Rental

Highlights of the Marx Collection will be on display in Wroclaw, thus creating a link between the cultural imaginations of both cities. The exhibition will be held under the title Summer Rental and feature several exemplary works of well-known artists such as Joseph Beuys, Anselm Kiefer, Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly and Andy Warhol, who form the heart of the collection.

Culture Train Berlin-Wroclaw

In 2016, Berlin and Wroclaw will be connected to one another directly by means of a new "Culture Train" (Kulturzug). The train will operate at the weekend and on holidays at the special price of €19 per trip. The ride takes about 4½ hours. Starts in Berlin-Lichtenberg, via Berlin-Ostkreuz, Cottbus, Forst.
